Mountain Ash
Note: When referring to Mountain Ash, reference is to the Eucalyptus regnans
Description
Description of the type of environment it lives in
In Australia, Mountain Ash grows mostly in Southern/Eastern Victoria and Tasmania, within cool mountain areas. This specific type of tree grows very quickly and can last for around 400 years. The Mountain Ash tree requires sunlight and rainfall to grow, just like many other trees. However in the mountain areas in which they live in, the Mountain Ash receives high rainfall and low temperatures (Roughly 9.4 degrees Celsius). One of the major reasons why they grow in these cooler wetter conditions is that it allows for longer intervals between bushfires. This is important because the Mountain Ash tree is bushfire sensitive, so this allows them to survive for longer.
